our challenge

the energy transition challenges us to be smarter and cleaner

The energy transition challenges us to be smarter. The building sector is crucial for achieving the EU’s energy, climate and environmental targets. At product level, the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energies, for example as boilers to heat pumps, cannot be seen separately from the transition to ventilation with heat recovery (HRV); the type of ventilation Brink Climate Systems has been focusing on for more than 30 years.

We are challenged to be smarter by using IAQ sensors, zonal control of the airflows and other automatic monitoring features to unburden residents, to save energy and to improve health and wellbeing.

We are challenged to be cleaner by paying more attention to our environmental performance, particularly with regard to the impact of our products.

“We believe clean air is essential and
the way we provide you with it should be as clean as possible”.

With this in mind, we are committed to increase transparency around the carbon footprint and life cycle of our products. As a result, a PEP Eco Passport for our newest range Flair HRV units is already available.

Transparency is critical

In my opinion, it’s not ethical anymore to compensate the poor insulation of a house by installing solar panels in order to comply with energyrequirements. A real contribution to the energy transition requires an integrated approach; limit the heat demand by good insulation of the dwelling and avoid direct supply of cold outside air in the colder seasons. For that reason Heat Recovery Ventilation (with benefits in all seasons) always has the best A or A+ Ecodesign energy label.

We aim to minimize the environmental impact of our products not only during usage, but also throughout manufacturing, transportation, and recycling processes. By being transparent about the impact, we gain valuable insights that help us improve and provide cleaner solutions. We consider this transparency to be a critical component of the energy transition.

So how do we achieve transparency?

PEP EcoPassport
The Product Environmental Profile (PEP) provides information about the environmental impact of HVAC systems. While PEP EcoPassports are already mandatory in France, many other EU countries are preparing environmental regulations and requirements. As Brink Climate Systems we are transferring this typical French environmental declaration to other EU countries.

The EN 15804 Standard forms the basis for this European assessment method. Just like the PEP, an Environmental Product Declaration is composed of various modules; these are partly identical in the different countries such as the manufacturing stage and partly different such as transport distances to building sites.

NEW: EVIA Ventilation Performance Label
In addition to the EU Energy Label, we also support the new EVIA Ventilation Performance Label that will be introduced during this ISH by the EVIA.

This label focuses on Indoor Air Quality and declares the probability of functioning of the ventilation system. In my opinion this label is easy to understand for our clients and gives an insight in the positive impact of smart ventilation e.g. by comparing IAQ sensors to manual switches. In this way, we maintain the air quality standards that we stand for.

Carbon Footprint
As Brink, we are constantly monitoring our overall carbon footprint. We use green energy in our production process and pack our products in 100% cardboard, which is both returnable and recyclable.

Clean air at ISH 2023

Brink Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) significantly reduces energy consumption and provides high-quality filtered fresh air in a comfortable way. When it comes to the energy transition, better and more energy efficient buildings will improve the quality of life for citizens and also bring additional benefits to society, economy and the environment.

Come visit us at the ISH and we will gladly show you how clean air is essential in the energy transition.
You can find us at hall 8, stand A55.
